The snow has melted in most places of Caeleste, besides those that are prone to snow throughout all seasons. Birds are chirping, the nice weather bringing them back home from winter migrations. You will also notice many other animals reappearing throughout. Weather temperatures have risen but often a cool crisp air will still bite at coats during the evening and night hours. Enjoy the lovely weather of spring for summer may not be as kind.

  • Member of the Month
Rather new to this large crazy family, Boaz is often seen in the cBox or in Caeleste's discord channel. A rather friendly, outgoing personality, Boaz is not afraid to make new friends and get involved in any plots!
  • Thread of the Month
    let’s play a game
A touching, heartbreaking, thread. Leonidas and Roxana come to find their beautiful child viciously murdered. This thread can be considered the start of a war as Leonidas will not rest until he finds whomever did this.
  • Couple of the Month
    Vithmiris & Slythe
Caeleste's resident vampire couple, Emperor Vithmiris and Slythe have offered a rather interesting dynamic to their pairing. While the pair have a tendency for violence, the two also have their tender moments - as fleeting as they are.
  • Character of the Month
The newly crowned Greeshma Emperor has certainly made a name for himself among many in Caeleste in many ways and has made it no secret his ambitions for the kingdom of Greeshma. We can't wait to see what he does next!
  • Quote of the Month
“Run along back to that mountain in that frozen hell you call home. And next time you come strolling out from between his sheets, I suggest you wash yourself. I could smell you a mile away.”

Rhiannon Harlam...
“If it were not for collectors England would be full, so to speak, of rare birds and wonderful butterflies, strange flowers and a thousand interesting things. But happily the collector prevents all that, either killing with his own hands or, by buying extravagantly, procuring people of the lower classes to kill such eccentricities as appear.
Eccentricity, in fact, is immorality--think over it again if you do not think so now--just as eccentricity in one's way of thinking is madness (I defy you to find another definition that will fit all the cases of either); and if a species is rare it follows that it is not Fitted to Survive. The collector is after all merely like the foot soldier in the days of heavy armour-he leaves the combatants alone and cuts the throats of those who are overthrown. So one may go through England from end to end in the summer time and see only eight or ten commonplace wild flowers, and the commoner butterflies, and a dozen or so common birds, and never be offended by any breach of the monotony.”
― H.G. Wells, The Wonderful Visit

un de ces jours...
There is a lackadaisical ease to Rhiannon, almost comical in the way she drapes and leans against things as if she is unable to carry her own weight. She appears lazy and soft, gentle curves and features when you first meet her, but do not be fooled; she is everything but languid. She is lean muscle and strong legs, she is fierce and a force to be reckoned with when she decides that you are not worth her time.

Her head is graceful, perched on a fine nape and neck; her profile reminiscent of romance novels and old English literature. Rhiannon could step into a Bronte novel and not get a second glance. She is what men write novels and poems about: gentle chin, straight nose, and heavy-lidded eyes, violet and violently turbulent under long eyelashes. She would be perfect if not for the dashing of freckles about her nose or those passionate shadows under her waterlines. But she is not always like this for Rhian is prone to brooding and long bouts of thought, sudden emotions and a habit that involves chewing her bottom lip when under the influence of her more savage contemplation.

All leave their marks on her flesh.

She lacks height but makes up for it with sturdy, strong legs and an upright carriage, her moves deliberate and poised especially where her wings meet her shoulders. Rhiannon carries herself like a bird of prey; confident elegance and the promise of something much more in the rum of her heart and the tightening of her muscles.

The woman is not meek nor is she outright predator though she has much more in common with the hawk than she does with the dove despite the pale hair and ivory skin. The small of her back seems to beg to be traced with gentle touches, her mouth pleads to be kissed but if not for the fear of whatever threat lurks underneath the hitch of her breath. She is a warrior of black and white, a wolf with a penchant for dressing like a lamb, a dove with talons and a heart for the hunt – she is all these things with a yearning for the horizon and the wings to carry her there.

l'artiste guerrier...
If she looks like a character from an old English novel, her personality is keen to replicate. She is well-read, fluent in both English and French, but rusty in the skills that are needed to survive a time among the courts and royals. She knows how to curtsy and how to greet people properly, how to waltz and tempt and tease but the wilds have wreaked havoc on the lessons of her childhood and distorted them into disjointed, tarnished memories. Her mother tried to make a lady of her but her father was much too busy running his own little world to bother with the manners of his latter offspring; writing off her eccentricities and love of paintbrush and sword as just fickle childish folly.

Rhiannon is a disciple of summer winds and warm colors, of peonies and tempestuous love, of robust anger and steady loathing – all of these things not deemed appropriate for a lady of Rhian's standing. She will as soon pull you close as push you away; she is always for want but hates the idea of giving in to such things: forever the hot and cold but she will be forever steadfast at your door in the morning. Rhian is adventure and freedom and yet she is strong walls and iron bars, the lack of fear inside her a beautiful attribute but also her greatest downfall; her pride is crippling.

She is eccentric and lovely, a collector of hearts and stories, qualities that make her a very gifted liar – something she does freely until she gets to know you. Rhian has a dear respect for her own mistakes but chooses to ignore them or even deny them openly; she pretends she doesn't learn from them but deep down she places them on pedestals and worships them like Deities. She makes a show of her accomplishments and scars without words, those dark eyes and fleeting feet betraying her with every step even if she is smiling.

Rhiannon, despite all her lies and grandeur, her tales and pride, her skills with a sword and her talent of art, is always lonely and incredibly jealous of others especially happy couples. She is a furnace of ill-emotions, a fire stoked with misgivings about her own self-worth – too many men in dark alleys have turned her bitter to the idea of romance and her longing to be loved has gotten confused in raw passion and physical chemistry; always to find her at the end empty and alone. Rhian has been taken for granted far too many times and used even more. She wasn't always this way though, she was once a bit of a romantic and a dreamer, a girl who clung to her virtues and worth like a rosary – she used to want a husband and children, a happy home with open doors but not anymore. At least that's what she tells herself when she is forced into a corner.

mes tempêtes...
The fifth daughter of Lord Harlam and Lady Kelsie, Rhiannon was born into a life of grand estates and impeccable extravagance but she was never destined for greatness. That position was reserved for her eldest sister: Lady Rebekah – the two of them near twins despite their gap in age. But even with all of this, Kelsie kept tight leashes on all her daughters while Harlam ran his estates and managed the tenants underneath them. Rhiannon was taught all the important lessons of a lady early on in her formative years, following her siblings behind their mother like ducklings in a little line – seven little birds with their wings tucked tight against their sides and their chins held high.

She learned to keep her mouth shut when men were talking, to keep her nose out of trouble and to be agreeable; but none of these things held her for very long when her mother wasn't around to supervise.

As soon as her mother was gone, Rhiannon was outside or she was in her room painting or drawing. Always the free child, she slipped her collar like a rambunctious hound. She was overzealous and enthusiastic, darting for the door and the great wilds of their home. Rhian made friends quickly with the farmer children, learning how to spar and mock-fight with wooden swords much to her mothers displeasure. Lord Harlam had no problem with his fifth daughter's escapades though. He was the one who suggested the girl take up the mantle of darling Rebekah's personal guard and body double – for things were not well among the Lords and Ladies of her home and rumors were swirling that something bad was in the air. That summer Rhiannon stepped into her first swordsmanship class with a real blade, that winter she spent every waking minute with her sister learning all of her mannerisms. It had become like a game to her on how well she could be her sister and not be her sister; on many occasion she had fooled their own parents with her spot on replications.

And so it went on like this for several years – Rhiannon was Rebekah's shadow, the ivory siblings of Lord Harlam.

Things settled down as they always are opt to do given time, and Rebekah found herself being courted by a Dr. Donovan, an heir to a small fortune. Rhiannon found him devilishly handsome with his dark eyes and strong features but she didn't say a word to her sister about it for fear of Rebekah's retaliation or the secrets she would spill. Rhiannon had been meeting her swordsmanship instructor in secret for several months now; learning other things besides the proper way to fence or the correct stance and Rebekah was the only one who knew and the thought that Rebekah could ruin her kept Rhiannon quiet. It didn't keep Donovan away though.

Late one evening when she was returning from one of her secret meetings, Donovan caught her in the hall. She at first thought he had been drinking or that perhaps he had mistaken her for Rebekah but all those thoughts were put down the moment he whispered her name against her neck – he knew who she was and the way he pulled her so close and held her near broke her. He kissed her and she kissed him back, a traitor to everything she had ever swore to be: a sister, a daughter, a friend, a guardian. She gave into him, bending like a young tree in the wind and he took what he came for – it didn't matter if he loved her or not; he was a real man and not some child she had entertained on the field. He knew the curve of her hips and the way to open her like a book, he knew how to catch her on fire and only he was the only one who could put her out. In the morning she finally realized what he had taken from her; he had stolen everything and she had let him. She hid in her room for days after that or out in the field with her instructor, swinging her blade like she was mad until he finally pulled her close and asked her what was wrong.

She couldn't look him in the eye and tell him though. Rhiannon knew he cared about her – why had she done that? She just cried into his shoulder and clung to him for dear life. She had come to the conclusion that she had to tell Rebekah; no matter the the price it would cost her.

So she did. She told her sister everything and was forced to accept the consequences of her actions. She was banished from her family home, forsaken as a liar and a harlot as of course Donovan denied it all. Rhiannon was damaged goods now and had given away everything she held dear to her life because of one stormy moment. She had severed all her bonds and broken one good man's heart when the story finally found him. So that night as she was packing her things she decided it was best to just leave – so she gathered what she could carry in a bag and took to the skies, leaving her home to live the life of a nomad where no one would know her name or the mistakes she had made. Rhiannon bounced about for a long time, picking up men and stories like a tumbleweed. Of course none of them meant anything more than momentary reprise – the only real freedom she found was in the skies above. She had always been a very gifted flier, her strong wings carrying her wherever she wanted to go.

She healed as best as she could from her own cuts and bruises; at last coming to land at the edge of a never ending mist and forest. After a few days of wondering, she was finally saved by a kind older mare and set loose into the skies of Caeleste – finding a home among the faces of sharad.

Everything was peaceful until a two-winged beast knocked her out of the air one day...
