The snow has melted in most places of Caeleste, besides those that are prone to snow throughout all seasons. Birds are chirping, the nice weather bringing them back home from winter migrations. You will also notice many other animals reappearing throughout. Weather temperatures have risen but often a cool crisp air will still bite at coats during the evening and night hours. Enjoy the lovely weather of spring for summer may not be as kind.

Rather new to this large crazy family, Boaz is often seen in the cBox or in Caeleste's discord channel. A rather friendly, outgoing personality, Boaz is not afraid to make new friends and get involved in any plots!
  • Thread of the Month
    let’s play a game
A touching, heartbreaking, thread. Leonidas and Roxana come to find their beautiful child viciously murdered. This thread can be considered the start of a war as Leonidas will not rest until he finds whomever did this.
  • Couple of the Month
    Vithmiris & Slythe
Caeleste's resident vampire couple, Emperor Vithmiris and Slythe have offered a rather interesting dynamic to their pairing. While the pair have a tendency for violence, the two also have their tender moments - as fleeting as they are.
  • Character of the Month
The newly crowned Greeshma Emperor has certainly made a name for himself among many in Caeleste in many ways and has made it no secret his ambitions for the kingdom of Greeshma. We can't wait to see what he does next!
  • Quote of the Month
“Run along back to that mountain in that frozen hell you call home. And next time you come strolling out from between his sheets, I suggest you wash yourself. I could smell you a mile away.”

In Pythia’s homeland, few were blessed with wings. Her father’s family was one of the few lines that carried the trait. Being born with wings made Pythia somewhat remarkable, as her mother was a simple equine. Her own wings are large and match her pure coat. However, as they are made of flesh and not feathers they are vulnerable to tearing.

Pythia inherited her creamy, white coat from her mother. All those who were chosen as Oracles were meant to be pure inside and out. The only blemish, if it could be called that, is the mark of the Oracle she was branded with when she became the priestess. The symbol, a crescent, was representative of the Mother Goddess of her lands. Pythia has eerily black eyes that reflect the light like glass but have no evident pupil.

Build-wise, the mare is of Marwari blood - as evidenced by her curled ears. She has a thin, lithe build making it easy for her large wings to carry her. She is of average height for her kind, standing at 15.2hh.
Honest | Blunt | Vengeful | Smart | Manipulative

Pythia has known both unconditional love and the cruelest betrayal in her lifetime. As a result, she tends to have a personality built on extremes...

She was raised in almost complete isolation, so there are many social graces she simply does not understand. While she is honest, as that was a core tenant of her upbringing, that honesty can be cruel at times. Pythia is also cautious by nature, and wary of others. She may lash out verbally if she feels threatened. In the same vein, after being isolated for so long the mare is also curious to be around others, to learn, and to adapt.

She is devoted to the ones that she cares about, though there are none that she holds in her heart upon arriving in Caeleste aside from the memory of her mother. She is also vengeful, which culminated in the death of her father.

Pythia is more willful than her pure-of-heart mother. It was this willfulness that lead her to shake off her chains and flee. While she tends to act impulsively while not considering the consequences of an action, she can also be very calculating. She planned her escape for months, and knew exactly how to play her part in order to put the pieces together perfectly. Manipulative would be an apt description, but she does not manipulate others for pleasure - rather out of necessity.

It is difficult for her to know much about herself due to her upbringing, but she hopes that freedom will allow for growth. She is smart and both thinks and adapts quickly to change. Despite her past, Pythia is optimistic about what her future brings.
Pythia’s upbringing was not a happy one. The girl was born to the one they simply called The Oracle - the high priestess of her kingdom. Her names and possessions had been stripped away, for The Oracle’s one purpose was to interpret the will of the Mother Goddess. She was kept in a great temple by the sea, tended to by only two lower priestesses. The land here was volcanic at its heart, and highly volatile. Cracks in the floors of the temple released invisible gases - hallucinogenic gases - that allowed The Oracle to interpret the will of the Goddess.

The child was kept secret, for The Oracle only became with child after the King, Agon, forced himself upon her in the hopes of the creation of a powerful son to succeed him. Since The Oracle was through whom the gods spoke, who better to carry his legacy? Only The Oracle’s priestesses knew of the scandalous secret.

However, The Oracle did not bear Agon a son. Instead, in secret, a daughter was born. The King was enraged upon the discovery, believing he had been robbed of the son promised by the Goddess. The Oracle herself spoke of the legacy of the child she carried. The birth of your firstborn will signal the fall of a great empire . They were the first words she had spoken following the conception of the child. King Agon put great faith in this premonition, taking it to mean that he and his son would conquer a great rival empire. But now, his faith in The Oracle had been shaken.

He ordered the child locked away in the temple. The priestesses who had knowledge of the child’s birth were bound and thrown into the sea. The child would be the new priestess, The Pythia, the only companion of The Oracle. The Oracle rarely spoke to the child, for the fumes she was continuously exposed to took their toll. But on quiet nights, when the sea breeze provided soothing relief and diluted the volcanic fumes, The Oracle was able to speak freely. She spoke of those who came before her - of their legacies and their failures. It was years later, when The Oracle felt her strength waning, that she finally told the child - now grown and a true priestess of the Mother Goddess - the circumstances of her birth.

On the day her mother died, King Agon returned to the temple. He needed a new Oracle, a more powerful Oracle. The choice was simple. The Pythia. The child resisted her father, but it was of little use. The Pythia was bound with chains in the Temple, forced to stand where the earth had split the floor and where the gases were most potent. She was marked with the symbol of The Oracle and left, unattended and alone. Agon again returned, demanding to know if he was still destined to conquer empires as the former Oracle had promised.

He was given the same prophecy. The birth of your firstborn will signal the fall of a great empire. The Pythia had memorized the words - imprinted them in her mind. For The Pythia wasn’t a pure soul as her mother had been. She was the bastard child of a cruel and heartless king. There was darkness in her heart after years of abuse and mistreatment. But the girl was patient knowing that she wouldn’t remain chained forever.

She was an obedient servant of the Goddess, providing prophecy and insight when it was requested of her. Finally, after nearly a year, the King felt that the chains were unnecessary and ordered them removed. For the first time in months, The Pythia was able to stretch her wings. She could smell the sweet sea breeze on the air. It was the only sign she needed. The Pythia turned on her father. Agon, stunned that the girl was even capable of dissent much less violence, was slow to react. Rage gave the girl strength as she pushed her father towards the cliffs. The Pythia did not stop until her father lay at the bottom of the sea, resting with the bodies of the fallen priestesses and her mother. His legacy was gone. She was free.

As the ground beneath her hooves began to rumble, The Pythia took to the skies for the first time in her life. Behind her, the whole world burned. Ash filled the sky as the once-dormant volcano consumed the empire that her father had built. The prophecy was fulfilled. She was free. She was simply Pythia, the fallen priestess, determined to have a say in her own fate.
