  • Member of the Month
A wonderful asset to Caeleste as a whole! Not only does she dedicate her time as a staff member but she also spends a lot of her time being an amazing writer! She is very friendly in the chat box and her characters are very well developed. It seems everytime she steps into chat box or our discord, everything seems to light up! We are blessed to have her apart of the team and cannot thank you enough for your dedication and creativity!
  • Thread of the Month
Standing in the Way of the Light
A wild tale of two very dark creatures meeting for a second time... Xavier, possessed by 'The Darkness' tries to warn Resin about the demon inside of him but she is far too fearless to listen. Long story short The Darkness and Resin strike a deal... For twelve months the demon will on feed on her and then on the last day of the twelve months it will leave Xavier's body and never return. However it refuses to leave empty handed and as it leave Xavier it will take Resin's soul! It's a daring, darking, emotional and twisted thread that won't leave you dissapointed!
  • Couple of the Month
    Rhiannon & Wellington
A very interesting duo that you would never expect to be friends. The noble, strong headed, and rather independant Rhiannon versus Wellington, an eccentric character that has a weak moral compass but hilarious nonetheless. Their dynamics make for very interesting and rather comical threads. You can't help but wonder why a mare like Rhiannon spends her time with a creature like him but then also thankful she is there to take care Wellington and save him from all of his shenanigans.
  • Character of the Month
A soul tormented by his own demons and terrible past, Xavier is a unique character to Caeleste. The poor boy seems to have endured Hell - quite literally - only to be further tormented in recent times. While he is not the monster that lives within him, his hold on the metaphorical beast seems to be waning. We can't wait to see what is in store for Xavier's future and whether or not he will shake the hold of his inner demons!
  • Quote of the Month
"Another time, perhaps. I believe we've both tormented him enough for today."

A sad moment in the thread Standing in the Way of the Light where Resin turns down the Darkness, the demon within Xavier. However tempted, she has more respect for Xavier and tries to decline as delicately as she knows... It is a capturing moment where the apathetic Resin shows something for the damned Xavier.

EarendilLord Earendil of Amaranthine
Moisture Control (Primary Sorcery)
[ ee-EHR-en-dil ]
Gender Stallion
Age 5 year old
Height 17.2 hh
Breed Thoroughbred Mix
Sexuality Heterosexual
Player Kiwi
Earendil appears as if crafted from sea foam and water itself. He is an angular creature made up of fine lines and sharp edges. His coat is a brilliant white, dotted in a few sparse pale spots. His face is well-defined and elegant, a hint to his noble birth through many planned marriages of good breeding. His eyes are large and expressive, a pale blue defined by an inky black sclera which only seems to make his gaze all the more intense. Both his eyes and his nostrils are framed in a light pink which also dusts his underside, most between his legs. Adorning his face are three horns, twisting upwards from his skull, made of brilliant blue sea glass. His neck is lean but laced with strong muscle where glorious blue locks cascade down from his crest, lightening as they reach their end.

His legs are long, allowing for beautiful ballerina like movements that flow as beautifully as the ocean. His entire body is sculpted like fine marble, an artist's magnum opus. Everything about the way he breathes and moves, screams noble birth despite his lack of balance at times on land. His hooves are made of the same nearly translucent sea glass that makes up his horn.

Despite his obvious elegance and beauty from a distance, Earendil's face is almost always fixed in a tight lipped scowl with nostrils wrinkled up. There are times, of course, that the young man can be seen with adoration and love in his bright eyes. Water. When he is near the ocean his heart swells with love and happiness, though the moments are fleeting while a bitter regret returns him to his more natural expression.

Once he gains the ability to shape shift, he will be able to return to his aquatic form for a time. Replacing his hind legs is a longer body, smooth and tapering to a point. A long twirling fin, a mutation of an eel and a koi, flows from the end.
As a child, Earendil was kind and curious. He spent his days basking in a wealth of intelligence his tutors were willing to bestow upon him. He asked questions with happiness and explored with a lust for excitement. Even got himself into unnecessary danger on a few occasions as he followed clues in search of long lost knowledge. Earendil's life was full of purpose and nothing was done by accident; whether it was exploring, learning, or taking a refreshing nap. Everything had it's place and a point.

After the incident with the land horses he changed. What was once light and happiness became darkness and bitterness. The once happy go lucky youngster was replaced but something more sullen and angry. A hot spring of emotion boiled within his young body. As hew grew he became more and more withdrawn from those he loved and cherished.

Upon his unfortunately permanent place on land he's become even more bitter still. He despises any horse with four legs, finding them to be disgusting and dirty. Earendil believes himself to be pure while they are dark and sinister. He despises them for no other reason than a few troublemakers from his past. Racist and angry, Earendil refuses to believe that there could be good in them. He prefers to keep to himself and stick close to the ocean.

He is occasionally happy, fleeting moments while he lays in the shallows and allows the water to lap at his porcelain skin. These moments are short lived when the reality of his life comes crashing through his thoughts like a wrecking ball. It would take a great force to sway his opinions on those that call land their home.
Earendil's story starts in the undersea city of Amaranthine. A beautiful populous, inhabited by hippocampi from all walks of life. From vast fields of underwater flowers to the massive palace and everything in between. Amaranthine thrives below the surface. Those who live beneath the waves rarely have to do business with those on land, but at times it is done. They mostly secured trade routes by the sea in exchange for things they could not get underwater such as specific foods and gems. Lord Aegaeon was the well respected and beloved leader of Amaranthine. He lived in the palace along with his wife, Lady Morgaine and their two children. It was then that the third child was born-- Lord Earendil. Unlike his two older siblings who took more after one parent than the other, Earendil was molded from both of their hippocampi breeds. Aegaeon was an eel with a long twirling body and Morgaine was a butterfly koi known for her elegant tattered fins. Earendil received a long body, courtesy of his father, and a long translucent fin from his mother.

As a child he was curious and kind, his curiosity only rivaled by his intelligence. Eager to learn, Earendil attended school with the rest of the children his age where he would learn to hone his skills in both magic and general knowledge. His older siblings were not as gifted as he was in the realms of magic and so he was doted on by his family. His siblings never disliked or envied him, they were proud of their young brother. He could not only communicate with almost every undersea creature he could also change the currents around him, to a small degree of course. Aegaeon was so proud and imagined in the future he would make a great protector in the name of Amaranthine.

It was in his younger years that he would meet a young catfish that he dubbed Buddy. They became quick friends and the whiskered fish was often seen swimming after his young master. He was not the most expensive or illustrious of pets but the young noble adored the carefree and adventurous fish all the same. It was through Buddy's nagging that Earendil set his sights on the horses of the land for the first time. On a particularly nice day they had sneaked away, moving to the surface and poking their heads out. It was there that Earendil saw his first four legged horse. Walking about and playing on the beach was a gaggle of horses. He watched, enamored, while they danced about and kicked up sand. He had to admit it looked like great fun.

After their day, Earendil decided to speak to his mother about them. She admitted that while she had never done so, he would step onto land and temporarily be granted legs. She and Earendil's father encouraged him to meet with the land horses. If not to sate his curiosity, but also foster a peace between them. Earendil was slowly being groomed to be the High Lord of Amaranthine one day despite his young age.

And so, one day Earendil decided he would make his first contact. It took a few hours for him to get the courage. He lounged on a distant rock for most of the morning, merely watching them while Buddy swam around below him. The catfish expressed some concerns about not being able to join him but Earendil payed him no mind. Eventually he dove into the water, moving toward the shore. He popped his head out and pulled himself up on the sand, legs wobbling as he did. His tail was dragged up on the shore behind him which glowed with a bright light as it was soon replaced by another set of legs. Like a newborn foal, Earendil pulled himself across the sand as he got used to the feeling.

It was strange, and he wasn't sure he liked it. There were other horses, staring and whispering in hushed tones. He waited for awhile, getting used to his legs before finally approaching a group of them about his age. Earendil introduced himself and they proposed a game of tag. It was something he was familiar with and he eagerly accepted. He was it first, how exciting! He hid in the bitter grass along the dunes and gave them a head start. There was a flash of red and he took off after a chestnut of bloodied tones. She was much faster than him and he stumbled, landing on his knees in the sand. And the children laughed. And the adults laughed. He could feel color rise to his cheeks as embarrassment flooded through him like a surging wave breaking down a barrier. His eyes burned with the threat of tears but he pushed through it, forcing himself to laugh too.

It became clear, however, as the game continued that they were merely messing with him. By the time the game was coming to a close he was covered in sand and beach debris. And then that same girl from earlier kicked sand into his eyes. He hissed as it stung him, wincing at the pain and falling onto his butt. The wave of tears could not be contained now as they spilled forth from his glittering eyes. With all the strength he had left, Earendil pushed off from the sand and stumbled back to the ocean as best he could. He disappeared beneath the waves, still sobbing as he returned to Amaranthine.

This day would be the day that he began his distrust of land horses. His mother, father, and older siblings tried to console them as best he could but his heart was stone. He hated them. They were dirty peasants of the earth and he was not interested. He began honing his magic, messing with those that played in the shallows by creating strong currents. He pulled their toys and trinkets away, letting them go out to sea. As he got older and stronger he pulled their ships off their path, leaving them in the middle of a storm. His parents began to worry for him, watching as their son became more destructive and bitter.

There was a sea witch by the name of Hali who lived in a cave on the edge of Amaranthine. She believed in the old ways before the massive cities and palaces. She approached the young lord with a smile and he was all too eager to talk about the 'filthy land peasants.' And so with a frown she cursed him, telling him he had but a few hours to say his goodbyes. She was a witch but she was not heartless. She told him if he could learn to live as one of them he could return to the sea. Many tears were shed as Aegeaon and Morgaine said goodbye to their son. And slowly, he made his way to the surface where he lay on a rock until the sun began to set and his tail disappeared. It was there that he said goodbye to Buddy and began to slowly paddle his way to shore.
Moisture Control (Primary Sorcery)

Much like his abilities of youth, Earendil can control the water around him. Though his entry into Caeleste reverted him back to his infantile abilities and he will have to rebuild from there. No longer able to create storms and whirlpools like he used to, he will have to relearn his abilities all over again. Being at only his first level, Earendil has a long way to go. Though he hopes to one day be a lord of the seas again.

He is able to control small bits of water now. Earendil is able to change the way the water is moving. He uses this to create small changed currents, unable to change the entire flow of the water however. He can pull small amounts of water from the air around him and manipulate it through the air. His control over water also grants him the ability to change the temperature, either hotter or colder. At this stage in his sorcery, he can only change it a few degrees either way.
